Preserves is a feature length film written and directed by award winning filmmaker and playwright Micah Ariel Asante. ​​​Told through rousing narrative and stunning visuals, Preserves is an evocative romance about a fragile love that makes two underdogs feel limitless. ​West Sheba, Kansas, a town founded by former slaves, is on the brink of dying out. When RIA, a dancer and preacher’s daughter, falls for WESLEY, the mysterious newcomer and ex-offender, their forbidden love uncovers a century-old secret that may be the key to saving their once thriving town.
